Works on the principle of variation in the resistance of a conductor with length and useful as a potential divider for various electrical experiments such as in null point detection. Comprising a 24SWG bare constantan wire stretched along a meter rule (graduated in millimeters) and is clamped to brass plates. The clamping system is designed to make electrical contact with the wire at the exact ends of the scale thus virtually leaving no margin for “end errors”. The terminating strips are provided with heavy-duty 4mm socket terminals.
